For me, Massage Therapy is the meditative practice of staying present for my client’s needs. I can feel changes in the client’s body: the warmth of their tissues as blood circulation increases, the external tissues start to become more malleable, and the muscles beneath begin to lengthen. I focus on the long term benefits of deeper tissue manipulations so that the clients achieve not only relaxation while on the table, but continue to feel the results. I can offer spiritual aspects if that is desired and appreciated in the form of energy work and guided meditations, but stay grounded in the physical and measurable results of the bodywork. I have Level I and Level II training of Reiki and have experience in many types of meditative practices, such as Metta (loving kindness) meditation.
